University Room Tour

"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it,
and join the dance." - Alan Watts
AH! There is a new human in Brighton town, 'tis me, I am the new human! It's taken me a while to settle on in, but I am oh so happy and excited to now be living in the land filled with lots of colour, lots of sea and lots of coursework.. Mustn't forget to do the coursework (so I say.. as I write this...)

Moving has been rather odd, as I've never left home before, nor ever even moved house before, I had no idea what to expect, also not knowing how to control my inner Monica Geller with labelling the boxes was a slight problem.. (pssst, 'notebook numbers 1 & 2' could be found in box number 4...) I had the biggest wave of nostalgia packing up the last bits of my room and it was so weird, my room at home is my favourite little place to escape to, it's where I spent pretty much ALL my time and I was oh so sad to be leaving it, but I held back the glumness as I'd be back each weekend for work and to see me nan, wahey!

After saying the last goodbyes to my now pretty bare room (mother will disagree here..) I set off on my own in my car with Jerek (my elephant) and Gilbert (my broccoli) happily strapped in the front seat, they make great company I must add, and my parents following in another car behind! Driving down the A23 singing as loud as possible to my favourite songs with the sun shining is a memory I'll remember for a long while, it was the biggest chunk of excitement!

Here now, in my new room after two months of moving in, settling in and yes, drinking as much tea as physically possible. It's safe to say I'm super happy here and couldn't be happier with my choice to move from home (as much as I miss it!!) It took me no time at all to get unpacking and decorating my room, I posted this Instagram on the second night of me moving in, by this time I'd found a place for everything, I had everything where I visioned it to be, ooo and the labelling continued into the early hours of the morning.. Since then my room has expanded with more signs, more fairy lights and more mugs with sausage dogs on..

So, welcome to my new home! I love it here, and I love the people I'm with, so I do hope you enjoy having a little snoop around!
You can't beat Brighton shopping, Tiger, you have my heart. I bought this rather large coaster for £2, it's perfect for popping my cereal bowl onto, or a giant mug of tea!
This little notebook was peeping out of my most recent Christmas stocking, and I instantly loved the patterns and the splash of yellow. I realised I still hadn't been out and bought a new 2015 diary, so instead of that, I customised this notebook and made it into a diary instead, ahoy.
One thing that's rather handy is the giant pin board above my desk. These kinda things excite me as I get to go out and buy colourful pins and pick my favourite photos/ posters/ signs to go up on the wall with ease! I've pinned up my favourite Polaroids, myself and my brother, the night before he jetted off for 6 months around the world, ah! The other two of my first night in my new room! They'll grow to be very memorable photos of mine, happy times, happy times.
A tidy space is a happy place! (Jars and other such things, are my downfall, one just can't get enough..)

DVD's, nail varnish, tape, ribbon, books and alcohol, all very vital.
My obsession for ribbon and tape is completely healthy..
Placed on the top of the shelf unfolds this piece of wonder, my brother bought me this Ciate advent calendar for Christmas, and it's hands down one of the greatest, most wonderful presents I ever did receive. Behind each of the doors reads a little quote, cannot describe the joy to jump out of bed (by jump I mean drag myself out of bed) and open up one of the little illustrated doors. This wondrous calendar holds all the colours I need, plus I did bring lots more nail varnishes which live in my green draws! This was a must on the list of 'things to pack!'
"If you're feeling blue, try painting yourself another colour."
My bedroom at home had a little en-suite too, so coming to another room where there is another was rather joyous. It's the perfect little tucked away room for keeping all my facial bits and pieces!
One thing that got me particularly excited about moving was buying new throws for my bed to make it extra cosy! My lovely mum bought me the green Deer throw from America, the little grey one peeping through is from Ikea and the grey and white Deer throw is from Matalan, and I lurrrrve them, they make the best hiding places when the morning comes..
If you too are a fan of all things Space and Astronaut related, then you may want to watch the video of my spaceman helmet in action, I go to the moon and everything.. Since this piece I made was for a previous University project, I'm now left a little lost with what to do with it, I can't throw it away as I've caught a strong bond for it, so for now it'll be my temporary shelf..
This is my lil squirrel pal, Theodore/ Theodaurus. I spotted him in the shop, he was doing his thaaaang as a door stopper, it was love. Unfortunately, as the doors here are super heavy, Theodaurus actually just flies backwards when attempting to hold the door, so now he just sorta sits by the door and keeps guard.. And I am totally okay with that.
To make my room feel more at home, my dad bought these sweet venetian white blinds and helped me add things such as mirror and handles etc. I've never slept so close to a window before, and it's my new favourite thing, watching the stars from my bed at night and then to watch the sun come on out in the morning, it's the little things!
It's been lovely having another place to call home and to make my own, I see my room as like a little ongoing project, whenever I'm out shopping I'm always looking for things to add and get crafty with. Brighton's perfect for little hidden treasured shops, it really is a wonderful place to live. I'll never take for granted the walks to the beach, oh so ideal for a bit of thinking space when the noggin gets a little cloudy.
Pssst, I must thank my lovely flatmates most kindly for making me feel so much at home (and for sliding down the stairs on mattresses with me..) Maya, Jo, Beth. P, Hugo, Beth. C and Mio, I love ya's I do I do! #flat5forevs

Thanks for stopping by!

Spain 2 - Grandad's Place & Ice Cream

"No, no! The adventures first, explanations take such a dreadful
time." - Lewis Carroll
[Spanish Adventure Post 2/2]
Ah, so in what feels like forever, here is the second part to my Spanish Adventure posts. Psssst, may contain lots of bubblegum ice cream, colourful buddhas and a very fond place of mine. Catch up with Part 1 'Wander & Watermelon Nails' here! I've been a little distant from blogging as something super exciting happened, I moved out! The beginning of January saw me fly on out of my family home and venture onto something new in Brighton, I now live with 6 other lovely people in student halls and it's been wonderful so far. A lot more happier and a lot more convenient for getting to and from university. I've got a bedroom post on it's way, so I'm excited to share my little living space on here!

Prepare to feast your eyeballs on lots of terracotta and name writing in the sand. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the last of the Spanish-ness! Uno, dos, tres!

Hat - Primark  |  Playsuit - Asos  |  Shoes - Primark
Bil Bil, Benalmadena. After over 20 years of my grandparents venturing out to Spain, my Grandad grew fond of one place in particular. The place I now wander to where I feel as though he's never left. He was my favourite, and this little peachy red building has become such a special spot for me to walk on over to and just breathe and 'remember all the happy things'.

I usually sit myself down on one of the newly varnished benches and just look out into the sea which is peacefully waving away. It's understandable why this was one of his favourite places in Spain. The atmosphere around Bil Bil is always wonderful, with wedding bells ringing and ceremonys being held throughout the year, with the added sun shining it's just a picture perefect scene, and I feel oh so lucky to call it a second home (Spain, not the 'castle', although, living inside it would be wonderful fo sure!)

About a 20 minute walk along the beach from my grandparents place you end up in the most loveliest port, 'Puerto Marina'. Full of life, colour, energy and music. With a slight hint from the photos, it's no lie I'm a tad in love with the shops situated in the port, buddhas and dreamcatchers all around, I never fail to make a purchase (oops)..

A fond memory of mine growing up in Spain was heading to the little bar right at the edge of the marina, you could literally put your hands in the water and touch the hundreds of fish, it's €1 for a little bag of bread to feed them, I remember the excitement seeing all the fish swim up to the top and nibble away, I used to think it was the most magical thing, kept myself and my brother content for ages! Of course over the years you grow out of certain things, and this seems to be one of the things we don't do as much anymore (also partially because health and safety got involved and have since put up a  metal fence so you can no longer touch the water/ or the fish, boo!) but hey it's another reason why this little part of town holds many treasurable memories from my childhood, and I'm oh so greatful for that.

If ever you're craving a specific kind of whacky flavoured ice cream then Spain is the ideal spot to be craving such thing, with indulging ice cream parlours situated on every corner, it's impossible to say no. A guilty pleasure of mine is bubblegum flavoured ice cream, am I alone in thinking it's just the most wonderful ice cream flavour, ever?! After wandering about the port for a good hour or so, our last evening in Spain was coming to an end, the next morning myself and my brother would be jetting off back home, leaving my mum and dad in Spain to party on down for another week! Whats your favourite ice cream flavour? Lets all join together and celebrate that ice cream is a thing.

So with plenty of sunshine and freckles, cocktails and escaping to tell my worries the moon, the time had came upon us to hop aboard the spaceship and fly on back to England. I've gotten more used to flying now, compared to when I was younger I was oh so nervous. Now I tend to spend the hours thinking how the world is a thing and delving into deep thoughts, like how am I flying up here and people are down there walking on the ground, mind boggling, still! Also, does anybody else drink SO much tea when on an aeroplane? It doesn't even taste different (if anything, probably worse) but for a moment it's magic juice, ones happiness in a mug.

I hope 2015 for you has so far been nothing but wonder and happiness. A new years resolution of mine is to find happiness and be happiness. It's my most sensible resolution yet, I never did quite manage to quit eating Skittles, the very thing I said I'd do back in 2011..

Feel on free to have a peek at part 1 of this post if you missed it.
I will be back ever so soon with a tour of my new university room - oh so excited to share it *squee*!

Thanks for stopping by!

With love,
